Congratulations, once again Mazembe!

The power only went off once this evening during Mazembes victorious performance in the semi final of the Club World Cup. They beat the Brazilian club Internacional 2-0. They go forward to the final on Saturday. We will brace ourselves for the inevitable festivities on Saturday night! For those of you who don't know me that well, despite a mild allegence to Newcastle United (where I grew up) I'm not really that into football, however even I will be watching the match after the Kimbilio Christmas party! Hopefully there will be no power cuts during that match! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/9287537.stm

Hi Ian,
I had to check up on Lubumbashi after the fantastic win by TP Mazembe over Internacional. I spent part of my youth in Mansa, Zambia not too far away and this win must bring tremendous joy to Africans throughout the continent. Back in the seventies the "Zairean" team had lost 9-0 to Yugoslavia and so this win shows the tremendous progress made by African soccer as a whole and Mazembe in particular. Anyway best of luck in the final - I wish Lubumbashi all the very best. Let them know that soccer fans everywhere support them and want them to prove that soccer is the African game. And that they are a great example of successful management and achievement that other African clubs should and can emulate.
Good luck and enjoy the game.
