We were all ready for a bit of a boost after the tensions of the last few weeks. The mood of the city was lifted last night with the DRCongo national teams' 2-1 win against Ivory Coast in the African Nations Championship played in Sudan. Dioko Kaluyituka, one of Lubumbashi Mazembes' celebrated players scored the second goal. The ensuing racket in the neighbourhood sounded like further unrest had broken out, but I was assured that it was an affirmative response to what was to be the winning goal!
